Suites & Rooms

Every accommodation in the four buildings that make up the Hotel de Ville offers some degree of river view as we are the only hotel in Alma that is actually on the Mississippi River.

Some of our Suites overlook both the railroad tracks and the falling waters of Lock and Dam #4 which are directly in front of the Cape Cod Colonial building. Other hotel Suites once housed the Swiss who operated businesses below what we now call apartment suites.

Our elegant hotel rooms are in the oldest building in Alma and are generally decorated to reflect the periods of the buildings history.

The Rooms of the Grand

Each of the seven deluxe hotel rooms in the Grand offer WiFi and cable TV for those who need to keep up or unwind. All have ceramic or marble bathrooms and luxury linens. All have at least a Queen size mattress and river views. Our elegant hotel rooms are in the oldest full brick building in Alma and are generally decorated to reflect the periods of the buildings history. The Lincoln bedroom is so named as Abraham Lincoln was President when the building was built and is in the Federal Style while the Napoleon Room reflects the French flair of the hotel. There are over 1400 pieces of crystal on the Art Nouveau or Empire style chandeliers throughout the hotel. Up an 1881 vintage spiral staircase you will find the Art Nouveau Room, the Art Deco Room, the Grand Budapest Room, and the Shire Room (which is Arts and Crafts in its overall design) reflect interior styles popular in the buildings long heyday. You will feel the history of the design while you will love the modern comforts we have added for you. All hotel rooms have access to the side deck over a portico with views of the patio garden boasting almost 200 varieties of Hosta. The Mississippi River can be seen in the distance over the daylily garden in the front lawn of the Hotel de Ville across Main Street.
